Bohra Love Stories: Couples Who Found Each Other on Bohri Cupid
We built Bohri Cupid, but our members wrote these stories. In 2025 alone, 100 couples who met on the app had their nikah, and we've heard from over 240 couples who are married or engaged. Here are a few of them, in their own words.

Insiya and Murtaza: Sharjah to Rajkot
By April 2025, Insiya and Murtaza were both genuinely looking for a life partner, and both had become a little hopeless about finding the right person. Then Insiya's sister gave her one piece of advice: "Just download Bohri Cupid and give it a try. You never know!"
She did, and one day she came across Murtaza from Rajkot. "We started talking, and somehow, we just clicked," she says. "Nothing felt forced." They met in August. In November, Murtaza travelled to Dubai to meet her family, proposed, and the families came together. The following September, they were married.
"Sometimes love doesn't arrive the way you expect it to. Sometimes it isn't through relatives, family friends, or the endless stream of rishtas from aunties. Sometimes your sister simply tells you to download an app, and your whole life changes."
Arva and Zuzer: two architects, 58 days
Arva runs her own architecture firm in Chennai. She wasn't willing to close it and move for marriage, and she was tired of aunties telling her to sacrifice her career. On Bohri Cupid, she noticed that members talked about their work, so she liked every architect she came across.
That's how she met Zuzer, an architect from Mumbai. She explained her work situation, and "everything clicked for us personally and professionally." They met in Chennai within 25 days, and married 58 days after their first conversation. Their story was featured in the Sunday Mumbai Mirror.
"I would like to put out my story for the young girls who are still in the process of making their career, as a reminder that they can have both a career and a supportive partner."
Alifya and Mustafa: Canada to California
Alifya lives in Canada. Mustafa lives in California. Neither expected much when they joined.
"We both joined Bohri Cupid with no expectations, simply hoping to see where the journey would take us. From our very first conversations, everything felt so natural. As we got to know each other, our bond grew stronger, and we realized we had found someone truly special."
They wrote to us the day after their engagement. "We hope our story inspires others to keep believing that the right person can come along when they least expect it."
Aamena and Idris: "comfort, compatibility, and love"
"Being part of the Bohri community, you know how challenging it can be to find the right match: someone who not only understands your values and traditions but also connects with you on a deeper, personal level. Through Bohri Cupid, we found each other. What started as a simple match turned into conversations, then connection, and eventually something neither of us had found before: comfort, compatibility, and love."
Aamena and Idris are now happily engaged. Khakeshifa Mubarak!
Two sisters, two brothers
One of our favourite stories began when a young woman matched with a man from Sri Lanka who had moved to the US. Then her sister matched with his brother. The two couples celebrated a joint engagement: two sisters and two brothers, brought together by one app.
